Trump Is President: Now What?

clinton-trump-3Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
November 11, 2016

On November 9, Americans woke up to the announcement that they have narrowly avoided the apparent worst case scenario, i.e. a Hillary Clinton presidency. Most researchers and activists of good will were happy if not outright ecstatic that the wicked witch of the West was finally gone, hopefully for good. Others simply acknowledged that a change in power would take place in January, 2017 but argue that there will be no discernible difference between a Trump administration and the Obama administration just as the Bush-Obama years were those of a seamless transition.

But while we may take some temporary relief in knowing that we avoiding the absolute worst case scenario, it is time to ask, “what now?” We are faced with 2017 with Donald Trump as President. So what do we do? Join the Trump team and become a cult follower? Support him until he does something terrible or commits a series of terrible decisions? Start attacking him immediately?

Certainly, complacency should not be an option. Simply sitting back because the outcome was “not as bad as it could have been” is entirely useless and counterproductive.

First, it is imperative that activists and people of good will must recognize that a Trump victory is not necessarily a victory for the American people. A Hillary defeat, although positive, does not equal a win for America, at least not in those simplistic terms.

Now is a time for organization and action.

Activists, activist organizations, and all people of good will must immediately begin to prepare themselves for a new phase in a battle that they have been (or at least should have been) fighting all along. They must begin to put aside petty differences with one another and begin looking at areas of common concern. They must continue their individual battles but must form alliances with one another in order to fight in a united front under a common umbrella. Whether the cause is related to guns, the drug war, war, GMOS, or some other issue, these individuals and organizations must come to understand the concept of enlightened mutual self interest.

Brandon Turbeville Interview With Khorasan News - Mateen was actually a patsy of the FBI

terror alertAli Khayami
June 22, 2016

"The FBI has a long history of not only allowing terrorist attacks to go live but actually initializing, creating, funding, and facilitating them", said Brandon Turbeville in an exclusive interview with Khorasan Newspaper. Turbeville, who is an author and a journalist dealing with Middle East, Syria, and geopolitics based in South Carolina, discussed the shooting in an Orlando night club in the U.S. with us. He asserts that this attack was actually engineered by U.S. intelligence and U.S. law enforcement agencies.

He claims that if we want to stop terrorist attacks inside the U.S, we should stop funding Daesh! Stop funding al-Qaeda! Stop funding “moderate” rebels!

1. First I would like to ask you some questionable facts about the Orlando terrorist attack. While FBI was aware of the danger, why they didn’t arrest him? Could you please explain your idea about the connection between Omar Mateen and FBI? (Like what you explained in “5 Reasons To Question The Official Story Of The Orlando Shooting” and also in “Was Orlando Shooting A False Flag? Shooter Has Ties To FBI, Regular At Club, Did Not Act Alone?”)

As I point out in the series of articles I did on the questionable aspects of the Orlando shooting, I would argue that the FBI didn’t arrest Mateen because the FBI wanted him to go forward with the attack. The FBI has a long history of not only allowing terrorist attacks to go live but actually initializing, creating, funding, and facilitating them. In many instances, the FBI will organize a plot and then step in to “foil” it at the very last minute. They will then take credit for stopping a terrorist attack from taking place. But, of course, they stopped an attack that they created! In some instances, we see those attacks go live – by that I mean we see that the attack is organized and facilitated by the FBI but it is not foiled and allowed to take place. At that point, there is a massive propaganda blitz by the U.S. media and the U.S. government suggesting various “solutions” to the general public such as greater surveillance, surrendering more civil liberties or justifying more foreign intervention.

Syrian Parliamentary Election Results Disprove Western Claims Of “Alawite Dictatorship”

April 19, 2016

If the last nail had not yet been pounded into the West’s “The Syrian government is a sectarian dictatorship” line, the recent Syrian Parliamentary elections have gone great lengths to ensure that very few spikes are needed to finally seal the box shut.

Despite claims by Western governments and corporate media outlets that the Syrian government is led by Assad’s “Alawite clan” and that both minorities and majorities are excluded and persecuted, the truth is that Syria and its government are pluralistic and multifaceted. This has been widely known amongst genuine researchers and those not wedded to the NATO imperialist agenda for some time. Still, such knowledge has been obfuscated and largely hidden by a mass media machine intent on promoting inaccurate views of Syrian society for the purposes of justifying Western intervention under the guise of “Responsibility to Protect.”

Nevertheless, if the Syrian government was truly led by a sectarian Alawite and Alawites ruled the country in an authoritarian manner, then surely the sectarian Alawite’s cabinet and Syria’s Parliament would be made up of Alawites, right? Surely, the majority would be excluded from positions of power.

That is indeed the presentation that the Western corporate media would have its audience believe. However, the recent Syrian Parliamentary elections have crushed those claims mightily whenever one takes the time to look at the religious affiliations of the members of the Parliament who won positions in the government during this last round of voting. Indeed, the results of the Syrian elections do not show a religious minority controlling the government but a rather predictable and accurate sampling of the geographic areas taking part in the voting process. In other words, the elections yielded results that are an accurate representation of Syrian diversity with the majority religion taking the majority of votes in the given districts. Still, the majority did not always win out, as is evidenced by the fact that, even in Sunni-dominated areas, Christians and Shi’ites were able to win seats as well.

CA Board Of Supervisor’s Candidate Slams “Prison Industrial Complex,” Drug War

prison-industrial-complex-2Brandon Turbeville
April 19, 2016

Candidate for Napa County Board of Supervisors, District 2, James Hinton, drew quite a bit of attention to himself for his staunch opposition to GMOs in Napa Valley.

Now, Hinton is once again drawing attention for his political stance against the prison industrial complex. Not only is Hinton’s position on the prison industry something that clearly sets him a part from his opponents, but it was his passionate speech in front of the current members of the Napa County Board of Supervisors regarding a possible decision to build new jails in the county that caught the attention of many.

Visibly disgusted with the proposal, Hinton stated,

Shame on you for participating in the prison industrial complex, shame on you for trying to hustle us into expanding it here because we have a broken system of victimless crimes, mandatory minimums sentencing. And there’s nothing we can do about it but build bigger jails to bring them on home so that everybody else can profit. And if we’ve got extra cells then oh, we can profit too. And we can start making money off our cells – isn’t that what we need, huh? More money off arresting blacks like Hakim Brown who is providing me my cancer medicine and Gary Leiberstein wants to lock him up for four years. And you want to build more jails to take on more victimless crimes.

CA County Board Candidate Slams GMOs And Opponents In Debate

james-hintonBrandon Turbeville

April 14, 2016

No one can accuse James Hinton of being unclear on his stance regarding GMOs and GMO legislation. The Napa County Board of Supervisors, District 2 candidate has staunchly opposed GMOs since day one of his candidacy and has even made the issue a major part of his platform.

Hinton was also not afraid to raise the issue during the County Board of Supervisors debate held in April 2015. Indeed, in a world of corporate politics, it is rare to even hear the GMO issue being brought up, much less seeing GMOs so passionately opposed. But this is exactly what Hinton did as he took aim both at GMOs and Supervisor Luce when he stated this,

Supervisor Luce denied the will of the public. We were 15 and 0 in support of this letter and he said, we must remove the words “and state” and submit this. He would only support federal labeling which we all know is never going to happen which 535 people there aren’t going to agree on this – they’re so far away from it. There’s a 120 in the State of California Legislature that are much closer to doing this and we would have been much better to go with the state support. But the fact that he denied 15 and 0 unanimous support…

Hinton then transitioned to a personal story. He stated,

And I was told in 2013 I might have pancreatic cancer – I was 300 pounds suffering from psoriatic arthritis extremely bad and I made a switch from pharmaceutical drugs to organic medicine. And to an organic diet. Everything I ate was labeled – I knew what I was eating. They were all organic, non-GMOs. And I no longer have signs of cancer – I have benefitted so much off knowing what I’m eating and selecting organic food every time so I am in full support of this and I will fight everyday for state and federal leadership to fight against the GMOs that are making us all sick.

Saudi Ambassador FAIL: Attempt To Push 'Elections' In Syria Falls Flat In Absence Of Elections In Saudi Arabia

March 29, 2016

If there was ever any question what hypocrisy looks like in the flesh, Abdallah al-Mouallimi, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United Nations, put on a live display when he agreed to an interview with journalist Mehdi Hasan.

Hasan merely asked Mouallimi a simple question – why elections were being demanded for Syria when the same is not tolerated in Saudi Arabia. Mouallimi’s attempt to dodge the question were rebuffed by Hasan and what resulted was Mouallimi not only admitting his country’s lack of respect for the right of Saudi citizens to choose their own leaders but also that Saudi Arabia has ulterior motives for its attempt to destroy the secular Syrian government.

The entire clip of the interview, being widely shared across the internet, is a classic example of real journalistic questioning and the inability of world leaders to justify their imperialist actions against Syria.

Below is the transcript of the clip: (Watch the video here)

Hasan: Many people might say that’s a good thing, there should be democracy in Syria, there should be an elected government in Syria, but they might also wonder why are you ok with an elected government in Syria, but not an elected government in Saudi Arabia. If the people of Syria get to choose their rulers or head of State, why can’t the people of Saudi Arabia choose their own head of state?

Hillary Clinton: Changing Positions At Every Election

Brandon Turbeville
Era Of Wisdom
February 7, 2016

As the tide of public opinion goes, so goes Hillary Clinton’s campaign rhetoric.

Note the term “campaign rhetoric” here since it is not Clinton’s true positions that change, it is only her words that ride the political wind.

If America is sick of war, Hillary is sick of war (except for the new one). If America is angry at banks, Hillary is angry at banks (except when she votes to bail them out). If Americans are beginning to question vaccine safety, Hillary questions their safety. If trendies are afraid of getting sick and there is a temporary false consensus that vaccines work, Hillary is pro vaccine. The list goes on and on.

Below are only a few points on which Hillary Clinton has made an about-face in regards to her alleged positions on the campaign trail.

Vaccines - In stark contrast to candidate Clinton in 2008 when questions over the safety and effectiveness of vaccines were coming to the political consciousness of the American people, Hillary has now become a vocal cheerleader of Big Pharma and vaccinations.

While her opinion is odious enough on its face, it is quite the change from the opinion she held as a candidate in 2008 when she stated that there was the possibility that vaccines were linked to autism.[1] In fact, she wrote in a campaign questionnaire that she was committed to finding out the causes of autism, including “possible environmental causes like vaccines.”[2]

US Presidential Race: Are the Kings of the Road Dethroned?

The results of the Iowa caucus came as a bitter pill to both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, with their leadership challenged by Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders, who are both geared to bring even more big surprises in New Hampshire.

In an article entitled “Iowa Caucus Results: 6 Things That Explain How It Happened”, written by Jessica Taylor and carried by NPR, the author opens by saying that “Donald Trump thought he could upend Iowa caucus traditions. The gamble didn't pay off. Hillary Clinton hoped she could wipe away her campaign nightmares of eight years ago by posting a solid win over an insurgent Bernie Sanders. Instead, her margin of victory over Sanders was vanishingly small. Those were just some of the surprise twists from Monday night's results.”

She then elaborates on a list of 6 factors that explain the dramatic results, concluding that “Huge turnout didn't just benefit Trump — it also helped Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio… On the GOP side, it was a three-way race for evangelical voters… Ground games and retail politics still matter… Rubio peaked late at just the right time… Sanders couldn't replicate Barack Obama's 2008 youth coalition…(and) Clinton still has a problem with liberals and progressives”.

Igor Pellicciari, professor at the LUISS University in Rome and lecturer at the Higher School of Economics (studio guest); Eric Shiraev, professor of international relations and political psychology at George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia); and Brandon Turbeville, writer and geopolitical analyst (Iowa) commented on the issue.

CA County Board Of Supervisors Candidate Goes After Monsanto, SB277

james hintonBrandon Turbeville
January 22, 2016

A new political candidate is shaking things up in Napa Valley, California. Recently the scene of one of the most fascist healthcare laws ever passed, California is now a ground zero for forced vaccination. Yet James Hinton who is running for Napa Valley County Board of Supervisors, District 2, is doing his best to turn things around.

In addition to his fight to raise the minimum wage in Napa County, end glyphosate pollution, and repeal Napa’s medical marijuana ban, Hinton is also attempting to convince the Napa Valley Unified School District to adopt a resolution urging the legislature to extend the personal beliefs exception deadline to July 1st, 2016, a plan modeled after the Orange County Department of Education’s earlier decision. Hinton is also urging the Napa Valley Unified School District to follow in the footsteps of the Sausalito Marin City School District and adopt a program similar to the “conscious kitchen” that provides Marin city students with clean, organic local food on a daily basis.

According to Steve van Zant, the Marin District Superintendent,
The results speak for themselves. Since launching the pilot at Bayside/MLK Academy in 2013, students are eating real food for breakfast and lunch, discipline cases have dropped dramatically, attendance has improved, food waste is down, and students and teachers sharing of meals has led to improved manners and open communication, greatly enhancing the school community.
The Marin Independent Journal writes that,
Meals are accompanied by a garden and nutrition curriculum at the schools that teach students about where their food comes from, how it’s grown and why it’s good for them.

Hillary Clinton Brags About Getting A Pedophile Off The Hook

clinton_tapesBrandon Turbeville

January 21, 2016

When Hillary Clinton was just beginning her career as an attorney in Fayetteville, Arkansas, she received a request to represent a 41-year old man by the name of Thomas Alfred Taylor who had been accused of raping a 12 year-old girl whom he had allegedly lured into his car.

Clinton accepted the case, represented Taylor, and succeeded in securing a plea to a much lesser charge. Years later, Clinton was taped discussing the case (sometime between 1983-1987) and the audio contained in these tapes shocked even those who may have already maintained a hatred for a politician who may be the most openly psychopathic “leader” since Dick Cheney.

The audio tapes - obtained and released by the Washington Free Beacon revealed that, not only did Clinton use a number of technicalities and devious tricks to essentially free Taylor, she did so knowing full well that he was guilty the whole time. In fact, Clinton even went so far as to slander the victim of the case in her effort to get Taylor a lesser charge than the 30 years he was originally facing.[1][2]

These revelations came out as far back as 2014 yet Clinton continues to paint herself as a tireless advocate for women and children ever since she began her legal career.

Clinton’s comments on the rape trial were taken down during the course of unpublished interviews with Bill and Hillary conducted by reporter Roy Reed in the 1980’s while Bill was governor of Arkansas.

Alana Goodman of the Washington Free Beacon sums up the details of the case as follows, along with pertinent quotes from Clinton herself. Goodman writes,

Obama Floats The Idea of Mandatory Voting

source
Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
March 18, 2015

In yet another “the collective over the individual” move from Barack Obama, during a public meeting about campaign finance reform in Cleveland on Wednesday the President floated the ideaof compulsory voting in the United States.

Obama cited Australia and other countries with such laws as an example of ways in which the idea could be implemented. Of course, in Australia, citizens who do not vote are subject to fines and even imprisonment but that is no matter to Obama since fining and imprisoning individuals for refusing to become part of the hive, purchasing private products, etc. has been a hallmark of his administration since day one.

Funny enough, Obama suggested that one of the answers to the corrupting influence of money over American elections was not to end the practice of following horrendous rulings like Citizens United or to impose more regulations on political campaigns and donations, or even public funding of elections. No, Obama’s answer to the fact that Congress and the President are all available to the highest bidder is to force the American people to vote for them – whether they like it or not.

“It would be transformative if everybody voted,” Obama said. “That would counteract [campaign] money more than anything. If everybody voted, then it would completely change the political map in this country.”
