New Intelligent Biometric Security Program Can Adapt to Human Behavior

It has recently been announced by Homeland Security News Wire that researchers at the Biometric Technologies Laboratory at the University of Calgary have improved upon current commercially available biometric identification technologies to the point of creating a form of artificial intelligence capable of making decisions regarding biometric information received from a variety of different sources.

The new biometric security program works by simulating the “learning patterns and cognitive processes of the brain.” The system was developed by the research and application of “neural network-based models for information fusion.”

Professor Maria Gavrilova, the head of the lab that conducted much of the research for this project at the University of Calgary stated:

Our goal is to improve accuracy and as a result improve the recognition process. We looked at it not just as a mathematical algorithm, but as an intelligent decision making process and the way a person will make a decision.
What makes this algorithm different from previous systems is its ability to “learn new biometric patterns and associate data from different data sets.”

This learning ability allows the system to combine information from more than one set of data measurements and subsequently to “combine features from multiple sources of information, prioritize them by identifying more important/prevalent features to learn and adapt the decision-making to changing conditions such as bad quality data samples, sensor errors or an absence of one of the biometrics.”

The various “data sets” of course, include information such as fingerprints, voice, gait, facial features, iris prints, etc. This new system not only categorizes, stores, and recognizes such data but it has the ability to make actual decisions about which piece of information is the most important or effective in a given situation, and also to adapt to different environments and incidents where the features are subject to change.

Yet, although the new program being announced by the University of Calgary represents a giant step forward for biometric security systems, the truth is that these programs are not coming in the future, they are already here.

Take, for instance, the Bio-AI program created by the company M2SYS. Created under the guise of improving the biometric employee time and attendance systems currently using fingerprints, Bio-AI gathers more and more information about an individual’s fingerprint each time the employee’s finger is scanned.

However, much like Gavrilova’s program, Bio-AI does more than simply store basic data – it actually learns about the data and the environment in which it exists, building on its knowledge each time the subject is scanned.

Because the type of technology in the public view has been increasing insophistication at a rapid pace, it is relatively easy to understand how programs like Bio-AI and those being researched by Professor Gavrilova will eventually be implemented in a variety of applications within mainstream society. What makes the situation even more concerning, however, is the fact that the technology itself is becoming smarter.

This, in and of itself, is nothing to fear. Certainly, progress is nothing to oppose. However, the fact is that those who are presenting this technology to the world’s population and subsequently implementing it within the social framework clearly do not have the best interest of the world’s people at heart, nor do they care about increasing living standards through technological development. Instead, every piece of technology is used as one more block in the wall of the police state control grid.

Unfortunately, if the general public does not soon wake up to the prison bars being built all around them with devices and developments sold under the guise of convenience and security, then the debate over whether artificial intelligence is superior to the human brain may be settled long before it truly begins.

St. Louis Police Warn Public of Military on the Streets

In yet another example of the attempt to acclimate American citizens to the presence of the US military on their own streets, it has been reported by Channel 5 KSDK in St. Louis, MO that residents of the city as well as the rest of St. Charles County might be encountering military vehicles and personnel this week.

The original announcement was made by St. Louis Police in an effort to warn the public of the strange sights they might encounter over the coming days in anticipation of the fears that many might have in this regard.

The vehicles will be armored personnel carriers manned by Military Police who are engaging in a “training mission” designed to teach them to operate and drive the vehicles on highways and city streets. According to the news reports, the vehicles are unarmed and this operation is not a military drill.

However, the vehicles will be paraded on the highways of St. Louis, as well as the streets of the city as the operation is conducted.

Of course, one must wonder why this training mission couldn’t take place on a military base or at some other military facility as opposed to the populated city of St. Louis. That is, unless the goal was maximum visibility and acclimation of the populace to seeing military vehicles and military personnel on the streets of their own country.

In addition, one must also wonder why MPs would have to travel all the way from Ft. Mead, Maryland in order to practice driving a personnel carrier. If it were necessary to train in an urban setting, couldn’t the MPs have trained in Maryland or Virginia?

Yet there is also the strong possibility that the operation is indeed a training mission with the goal being the preparation for the deployment of US military troops inside the United States for purposes of quelling domestic unrest, “emergency response,” or Martial Law.

Either way, with the increase in the number of drills, “joint operations” with law enforcement, and “training maneuvers,” it is clear that both the public and the troops are being prepped for the eventual use of the US military against the American people.

As Alex Jones documented in his film 911 The Road To Tyranny, the military has been training for well over a decade to engage the American people in domestic operations and combat.

In 2008, it was reported by the Washington Post that the United States Military, under the U.S. Northern Command, planned to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States for the purposes of operating domestically in response to a “terrorist attack” or some other domestic catastrophe.

Indeed, every year seems to bring an increase in the number of sightings of the US military on the streets of America and an even more brazen attempt to acclimate the American people to view this as normal.

Unfortunately, the latest incident in St. Louis is just one more in a long line of these types of operations that should make us question exactly who is really being trained.

Power Brokers Meet at Private Renaissance Weekend 'Ideas Festival'

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
June 20, 2012

Upon returning to South Carolina after attending the 2012 Bilderberg Protest held in Chantilly, Virginia, I began using the “what were you doing in Virginia” question to my advantage. For as long as the novelty of my trip lasted (which wasn’t long), I attempted to use the generic curiosity of others as an educational program; a perfect opportunity to spread awareness of the Bilderberg Group and its relevance to current world affairs.

What surprised me, however, was that several of the more politically active individuals I spoke to actually began telling me about yet another annual meeting of power brokers that takes place in my own state, one which I had never heard of. This was particularly surprising considering the proximity of the meetings and the fact that they have been taking place for well over thirty years.

What they were talking about was the annual Renaissance Weekend.

The Renaissance Weekend began in 1981 and was founded by Philip and Linda LeSourd Lader. It is a private, invitation-only gathering of a relatively large number of high- to low-level players in U.S. politics. The event takes place over an entire weekend and is usually held in eloquent resorts in Charleston, South Carolina.

In recent years, the conference has developed branches in other locations such as Aspen, Co, Santa Monica, CA, Monterey, CA, Napa, CA, and Jackson Hole, WY.

The official website for the Renaissance Weekend describes the event as follows:
Renaissance Weekends® — 'the grand-daddy of ideas festivals" — build bridges among innovative leaders of all ages, with exceptionally diverse perspectives. Unusually candid, the programs are always provocative, fueled by a unique interaction of thought-leaders, trend-setters and authorities.
The attendees are then described in this manner:
CEOs, venture capitalists & entrepreneurs, Nobel laureates & Pulitzer Prize-winners, artists, educators & scientists, astronauts & Olympians, judges, diplomats, social entrepreneurs & non-profit leaders, change-makers of Silicon Valley, Hollywood, Wall Street & Main Street, professors & priests, Republicans, Democrats & Independents.
To be clear, Renaissance Weekends are not Bilderberg. This much can be seen by thefact that the overwhelming majority of the participants are Americans, and also that the organizers are quite open about the conference and who attends it. One can even visit the Illustrative List of Past Participants on the official website to get a sense of who is attending the event, along with pictures and a brief qualification listing for each person.

Indeed, the sheer amount of people attending the conference precludes the cloud of secrecy that surrounds confabs like Bilderberg. Not only that, but the levels of “true power brokers” taking part in Renaissance Weekends is much lower than that of other “private” meetings.

Although the meetings are both closed to the public, and access is granted by invitation only, many low-level politicians, scientists, CEOs, bankers, and academics, mostly of the more privileged class of the general population are allowed in. Thus, it is apparent that one need not be part of any conspiracy to be invited to the Renaissance Weekend.

However, the conference is not merely a gathering of proficient high school students either. A quick look at the Participants List reveals that much.

Indeed, considering the individuals who were instrumental in founding the Renaissance Weekend, we should not be eager to dismiss the event as nothing more than entertainment.

Philip Lader and his wife Linda LeSourd Lader both have some interesting insideconnections of their own.

Philip Lader, for instance, has been the U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James, Chairman of the WPP Group, Senior Advisor to Morgan Stanley, and a Partner in the Nelson Mullins Law Firm. Most notably, he is Vice Chairman of the RAND Corporation and serves on the boards of Marathon Oil, RusAl, Lloyds of London, and AES Corporations. Lader is also on the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Council. He is a member of the Campaign for American Leadership in the Middle East, Council of American Ambassadors, the Pilgrims Society, and the Council on Foreign Relations. Lader was also the former President of the Sea Pines Company and the Executive Vice President of Sir James Goldsmith’s US holdings.

Philip Lader’s wife, Linda LeSourd Lader, is a trustee of the Tony Blair Foundation and Communities in Schools. She has also served on the board of Habitat for Humanity International, International Justice Mission, and Harvard Divinity School’s Center for the Study of Values in Public Life. She also assisted with “the White House liaison to American communities of faith” and served as an advisor to the President on issues of religion in American culture. Lader was educated at Yale Divinity School where she became a Fellow at the Yale Center for Faith and Culture.

It should be noted, however, that a large amount of the attendees to the Renaissance Weekend do not have biographies anything close to that of the Laders or the Clintons who also attend these functions. Indeed, many participants have no real official qualifications at all and many of them bring their entire family along as a “children’s program,” Camp Renaissance, is run simultaneous to the adult programs. Teenagers are also welcome.

College students can also be invited and are encouraged to blend in to the full program schedule with the other more select guests.

With this in mind, and as I have mentioned earlier, Renaissance Weekend is obviously no Bilderberg. Yet it is no mere educational conference either. What Renaissance does appear to be is a mix between the higher level worker bees of the true power brokers in society with mid- and low-level agents of the system.

More importantly, Renaissance may serve as a recruiting ground for future agents of the system, whether on a long-term or temporary basis. By allowing seasoned globalist operatives to mingle with state or local level ladder climbers, as well as students and academics with high aspirations, those individuals who express desire to manifest their potential within globalist systems are able to be identified for future grooming.

Thus, Rennaissance can be considered a possible farm team of the general public for the globalist elite which functions in addition to the more traditional methods already in place.

Regardless of the direct influence that discussions at Renaissance have on world affairs, the conference stands as yet another “private” event made up of elites, government officials, financiers, corporate operatives, and academics that meet largely in secret to discuss public policy and other relevant issues outside of the eye of those they have been “elected” to serve.

But, while members of the public are often invited (after having been vetted), we cannot be so naïve to think that the real discussions of Renaissance take place in the conference halls or in front of large audiences of eager and wide-eyed serfs.

Japan Proposes Next Phase of Centralized Surveillance

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
June 16, 2012

Although moving slower in some areas than others, there is little doubt that the plan to number, track, and trace every human being on the planet via biometric data and other digital means is moving forward in every country in the world.

The Japanese have had a mandatory national UID system in place since 2002, under the Basic Resident Register (BRR) program.

Under the BRR, each individual must provide their name, birthdate, gender, and physical address to municipal governments who, in turn, issue the citizen a UID.

However, a new initiative, called My Number Bill, was introduced in February 2012 that would streamline the information sharing process between government tax, social security, and emergency mitigation agencies. This is merely the next phase toward the goal of the Japanese government to centralize already-collected information about each one of its citizens and to expand this program to contain even more data.

The information collected on Japanese citizens under their current system will be fed into a nationwide computer database known as the Juki-net, which is made up of 3,200 municipal governments. The Juki-net serves as the common data sharing database between the municipal governments and, to some extent, the central government.

Under the current setup, citizens can opt to obtain a National ID Card which will contain “integrated circuit chips.” However, there are no opt-out possibilities for the program.

Yet the “My Number Bill” will be taking the Juki-net system a step further. If this bill passes, as is likely, the Juki-net will not only be a conduit between municipal and central governments, but also to various government agencies that administer systems such as social security, taxes, disaster mitigation, and other programs.

Not only that, but because the new and improved Juki-net will be issuing new UID numbers, it will also serve as the common link between the individuals’ records of income, payments, pension benefits, health care, and a host of other “services.”

Of course, the private sector is not far behind. As the line between governments and corporations is completely erased, the next step is allowing market-oriented capitalization on citizens’ private data. This much is necessarily the case in almost every country in the world, regardless of how sophisticated identity programs may be.

Thankfully, it appears that most Japanese are opposed to the Juki-net, even in its current form. However, as is the case the world over, the opinion of the people, in the absence of concerted and uncompromising political organization, means virtually nothing to those actually controlling the destiny of the country.

As Rebecca Bower of Electronic Frontier Foundation writes:
The Juki-net became a major source of controversy in Japan when it was launched. A newspaper opinion poll conducted just before implementation found that 86 percent of respondents were afraid of data leakage or improper use of information, while 76 percent thought implementation should be postponed. Several lawsuits challenged the new system, charging that it constituted a violation of the right to privacy guaranteed by Article 13 of the Japanese Constitution. Protests were mounted as well; 70 municipal assemblies and 29 mayors passed resolutions demanding the government postpone Juki-net’s implementation. In one city, whose mayor made it possible for citizens to opt out, 839,539 citizens went to city offices to register for non-participation.[1][3] Following a Supreme Court ruling that found Juki-net to be constitutional, the citizens who’d requested to opt out were enrolled anyway.
As one can see, even in the face of protests and concerns expressed by the vast majority of the population, the plan still went forward according to schedule anyway. Unfortunately, this is not likely to change if the will of the people and the will of the oligarchy remain in their current state of mobilization.

It should be noted, of course, that the “My Number Bill” does not contain provisions that will require biometric identification. However, the similarity of the Japanese UID to programs such as the one currently underway in India cannot be ignored. After all, seeing the term “UID” crop up in such distant countries at the same time should lead one to believe that the national ID, UID, and biometric ID programs are much more global in scale that what the general public is being told.

But while the UID in India, a country whose culture is much different than that of the Japanese, was initiated essentially all at once complete with iris and palm scans, facial photographs, and ID cards, the program in Japan is clearly being implemented with much more stealth.

As I have stated on many occasions: what, at first, might not be advantageous to announce in one fell swoop is usually introduced by methods of gradual exposure.

First, the program is introduced as only a number used by different municipal governments. Although the populace is unhappy at first, their resolve soon gives way and they adjust relatively quickly. The next stage is set to further centralize the database and expand the amount of information it contains. Then combining the authority of the state with the convenience and “advantages” of the private sector soon follows. Once this occurs, the level of hacking, identity theft, and other forms of privacy violations (always advertised as having been committed by individual citizens) will become so rampant that something clearly must be done.

Enter biometrics.

The method of incrementalism is key to understanding the agenda behind such technology and the methodology behind its implementation. The same roadmap either has been or is being followed in countries like India, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Spain, Peru, and Italy.

Yet there is virtually no country that is not attempting to develop and implement its own version of the UID, even if the attempt may still be in its infancy. For instance, it was only due to very large public outcry that the UK abandoned its open push for a national ID program.

Although the United States has officially abandoned the method of openly advocating for a biometric ID system, there are repeated efforts from both the Executive and Legislative branches to create and introduce such a system. However, what the U.S. government no longer attempts in the open can easily be seen in the shadows via programs such as S-COMMNGI, IDENT and other DHS-related ideas.

There should be little doubt that the “My Number Bill” being introduced in Japan is merely one more step in the global march for total control over every individual on the planet. The police state control grid is not unique to one country or even one continent. It is global.

With this in mind, the Japanese and, indeed, the rest of the world, have a choice – remain glued to our television sets or get off the couch and free ourselves.

It’s really that simple.

Romney's Foreign Policy Advisers Exposed as Globalists

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
June 15, 2012

Several months ago, when some still questioned the destiny of Mitt Romney as the Republican Presidential Nominee, the Romney campaigned demonstrated its own lack of doubt on the issue by announcing a stable of foreign policy advisers and various working groups specific to issues and regions. The list of Romney’s foreign policy team consisted of 22 advisers as well as 13 working groups.

The list was initially published at least as far back as October 6, 2011 in the Washington Post article by Philip Rucker entitled, “Mitt Romney taps foreign policy, national security advisers.”

Considering Romney’s attendance at the 2012 Bilderberg meeting and the apparent tendency of the elite in leaning to Romney as the next president, it is imperative that those who are aware of the forces truly guiding the United States and the rest of the world be prepared to shift gears, even if it is only temporary, and begin to expose Mitt Romney as the criminal globalist that he is.

Still, we must guard against being played like a tennis ball and rushing back into the arms of “Bush on steroids” Barack Obama. Unless we become significantly more streetwise than the general public has been in the past, the condition of the world will only continue to degenerate with every election, regardless of the results.

With this in mind, the following list is a compilation of Mitt Romney’s foreign policy advisers and links to many of their affiliations. This list is by no means comprehensive. However, one should pay careful attention to the preponderance of individuals associated with the George W. Bush administration, Project For A New American Century,[1] and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Syria: Impending False Flag Media PSYOP On The Horizon

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
June 14, 2012

With the Syrian crisis heating up amidst heightened agitation by NATO powers and the announcement by Russian officials that two military combat divisions and one brigade of Russian troops are being readied in order to support the Assad government, very disturbing reports are now being echoed by reliable sources such as Thierry Meyssan and Webster Griffin Tarpley regarding a potential false flag in the region.

The event, which would take the form of staged massacres, rebellions, and resignations, using television studios and the commandeering of Syrian television, would serve the purpose of both spreading disinformation across the world and a campaign of demoralization against the Syrian people.

According to Meyssan, the event could take place as early as Friday, June 15, at noon.

Meyssan states that, although the time and date are not set in stone, the plan, which has been in the works for months, has been accelerated due to the recent announcements made by Vladmir Putin.

Meyssan writes:

Studio-shot images will show massacres that are blamed on the Syrian government, people demonstrating ministers and generals resigning from their posts, President al-Assad fleeing, the rebels gathering in the big city centers, and a new government installing itself in the presidential palace.
The plan, according to Meyssan, has been largely organized by Ben Rhodes, US Deputy National Security Advisor For Strategic Communication and speechwriter for Barack Obama.

Meyssan states that the Arab League has officially asked satellite operators Arabsat and Nilesat to stop broadcasting Syrian media, regardless of whether those broadcasts are government-based or private.

However, although Syrian media will be cut, television broadcasts presenting the staged scenarios mentioned above will replace the regularly scheduled programming.

Meyssan says that, according to his sources, several international meetings were held in the last week where a discussion took place regarding how to coordinate the disinformation operation. He claims that the first meeting held in Doha, Qatar, was of a technical nature and the third meeting, held in Riyad, Saudi Arabia dealt with political ramifications.

Meyssan writes:
The first meeting assembled PSYOP officers, embedded in the satellite TV channels of Al-Arabiya, Al-Jazeera, BBC, CNN, Fox, France 24, Future TV and MTV. It is known that since 1998, the officers of the US Army Psychological Operations Unit (PSYOP) have been incorporated in CNN. Since then this practice has been extended by NATO to other strategic media as well.
They fabricated false information in advance, on the basis of a 'story-telling' script devised by Ben Rhodes’s team at the White House. A procedure of reciprocal validation was installed, with each media quoting the lies of the other media to render them plausible for TV spectators. The participants also decided not only to requisition the TV channels of the CIA for Syria and Lebanon (Barada, Future TV, MTV, Orient News, Syria Chaab, Syria Alghad) but also about 40 religious Wahhabi TV channels to call for confessional massacres to the cry of 'Christians to Beyrouth, Alawites into the grave!'
The second meeting was held for engineers and technicians to fabricate fictitious images, mixing one part in an outdoor studio, the other part with computer generated images. During the past weeks, studios in Saudi Arabia have been set up to build replicas of the two presidential palaces in Syria and the main squares of Damascus, Aleppo and Homs. Studios of this type already exist in Doha (Qatar), but they are not sufficient.
The third meeting was held by General James B. Smith, the US ambassador, a representative of the UK, prince Bandar Bin Sultan (whom former U.S. president George Bush named his adopted son so that the U.S. press called him 'Bandar Bush'). In this meeting the media actions were coordinated with those of the Free 'Syrian' Army, in which prince Bandar’s mercenaries play a decisive role.
As Webster Tarpley has pointed out, this plan sounds eerily familiar to the false broadcast of the Green Square in Tripoli, Libya which turned out to be faked film footage created on a film set in Qatar.

It should also be pointed out that Victoria Nuland, Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, has recently predicted more massacres similar to the Houla incident. Indeed, she was quite precise with her predictions, providing the exact locations of the “potential” massacres.

Obviously, one cannot predict with certainty whether this disinformation plan will be utilized or not. However, it is the goal of reports such as this one to shed enough light on the operation to see that it is not.

Investigation Continues Into Source of Strange Michigan Area 'Explosions' and Radiation Spikes

It appears that questions regarding the strange “explosions” which occurred all over the state of Michigan days ago are only continuing to grow.

With a puzzling lack of interest even from the local media, complete silence by law enforcement/military outlets, and activist investigators being arrested for attempting to obtain a statement at a U.S. military base, one would clearly be justified in wondering if there is not a cover up in the works.

For those unfamiliar with the story, throughout June 6-7 Michigan residents from all corners of the state began to report hearing loud “explosions” that actually rocked the ground hard enough to shake their houses.

Although some reports have focused on the “explosions” occurring in the Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan area, other reports have revealed that these “explosions” have also been heard and felt near Saginaw (Central Eastern Michigan) and on up to Northern Michigan.

“Explosions” are the only way to explain these types of sounds, because no one is claiming that ground movement was the result of an earthquake or anything else commonly seen. Indeed, after speaking with Bob Powell of The Truth Is Viral, it has been described as similar to the firing of artillery both in terms of sound and impact.

Whatever the cause, the fact is that the explosions must have been massive in scale – enough to trigger reports of them for at least 100 square miles – yet, at the same time, so small as to not cause serious enough damage as to be readily apparent.

There are, however, numerous reports of an area where 60-foot trees are now inexplicably missing their tops, and many that were simply snapped in half. This apparently occurred around the same time as the mysterious “explosions.” There is no evidence as to what might have caused this damage as of yet. Indeed, Bob Powell described this area as being “out in the middle of nowhere.”

And then there is the matter of radiation spikes in the Southern Michigan/Northern Indiana region. This was reported by two privately owned radiation measurement facilities, BlackCatSystems and Radiation Network, as well as some individual radiation monitors, which communicated an alarming increase in the level of radiation in the area around the same time the mysterious “explosions” were felt and heard.

Although normal radiation levels in this region usually stay at or around 5-6 CPM (Counts Per Minute), on the evening of June 6, radiation levels skyrocketed to 7,139 CPM. This figure was reported by both of the private radiation measurement facilities. It should be noted that both of these facilities are separately operated.

According to Anthony Gucciardi of Natural Society, these figures were confirmed by the EPA’s own radiation level readings. However, the actual EPA levels were quickly hidden from the viewing of the general public, and the EPA online measuring tool was disabled. Subsequently, Radiation Network and BlackCat announced that they had experienced “technical difficulties” and “errors in the system” resulting in a change in the readings posted online.

Of course, the possibilities for false readings always exist, but the fact that both of these systems “malfunctioned” at the same time and produced the same reading seems a bit more far-fetched. If Gucciardi’s claims are true, then it would be just as likely that the spikes in radiation were real but were edited once attention was drawn to them.

In addition, Gucciardi also writes that startling increases in radiation levels have been recorded by private individuals as far away as Colorado.

With all of these very strange “coincidences,” one obviously wonders what could have caused such loud “explosions” with such a level of impact.

Furthermore, one must wonder what could have caused the tree damage which was reported, as well as the increased levels of radiation.

For instance, Bob Powell states that there are no fracking projects being conducted for at least 150 miles. If this is true, then the likelihood of fracking as the source of the “explosions” is minimal. Likewise, Powell says that he contacted NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency) and was told there was no seismographic evidence of any earthquake or even any explosion in the region.

Powell also stated that he was reassured by the relevant authorities that sinkholes, another hypothesis put forward by puzzled onlookers, could not have produced the “boom” that was heard by so many.

All of these questions seem like a local journalist's dream. However, at least at this point, the local media has refused to investigate the cause of the “explosions” even in the face of so many Michigan witnesses.

One could argue that there is a similarity between the Michigan “explosions” and the Wisconsin groaning noises which were heard by small town residents on what was, at one time, a regular basis. Although the citizens largely knew that the “official” explanations for the noises was rubbish, the local media quickly accepted whatever claims were put out to the general public and ceased coverage.

But at least they did cover it at the beginning. That’s much more than can be said about the Michigan media. Thus, it has once again fallen on local activists and the alternative media to uncover the events surrounding these bizarre occurrences.

Of course, this is exactly what local activists and independent media have tried to do. Indeed, they might be more successful at doing so if they were not being handcuffed and interrogated for simply trying to obtain an official PR statement from the Alpena Regional Combat Training Center, which is exactly what happened to Bob Powell.

Powell claims that when he attempted to enter the military base, as he has done on numerous occasions before when attached to CBS, he was instructed to park in the designated area. When he returned to the guard shack, he was met by security where he was arrested. Bob Powell states:
I went up to the guard shack and I was handcuffed and put down on my knees, legs crossed, you know, the whole nine yards. . . . . . And all of a sudden here comes a bunch of Air Force security guys with M-4s and I said 'So are you gonna put a bullet in the back of my head now?' But surprisingly, the answer was 'No.' But it turns out that I’m on a list. And I can only assume it’s because of the work that I’ve been doing so far. And I’m no longer allowed on military reservations. And, apparently, I can’t even film outside of a military installation. . . . . I was, I wouldn’t say interrogated, but I was talked to about what I was doing there and what my purpose was and all that. I was held in custody for about two hours. And the Air Force didn’t do anything. They released me to the Sheriff’s Department.
Powell states that he was then charged with Driving Under Suspension, as his license was suspended in South Carolina, his home state, for not having insurance. You can see Powell’s video regarding his arrest below.

In an interview with Powell, he also claims that the entire law enforcement community has remained silent regarding the “explosions” in the area.

Thus, while the initial question was centered around the nature of the booming noise, it appears that a much bigger question has arisen. That is, why are the authorities and the media apparently ignoring these “explosions?” Even more so, why are they covering it up? Why such systemic silence?

Though some may be tempted to legitimize the “no comment” position maintained by the media and the government, it is almost impossible to believe that these agencies and outlets have no interest in what is obviously a big deal to many of the people who have personally heard the “explosions.”

In fact, the longer this whole thing continues, the more it seems that a cover up is very much in the works.

Particularly interesting are the photos posted by Anthony Gucciardi regarding what many of his readers are claiming to be military vehicles heading for the center of the “explosions.” Gucciardi writes:

Eyewitnesses on the ground near the media-blacked-out elevated radiation zone near the border of Indiana and Michigan, . . . . . are now sending in a large number of photos and videos documenting massive explosions accompanied by unmarked helicopters, A-10 Thunderbolts, and military personnel. These reports come after a Department of Homeland Security hazmat fleet was sent out to the location after ‘years’ of inactivity.
Of course, it should be noted that there are military bases located nearby to at least some of the areas that have experienced these “explosions.” This should be taken into consideration when one mentions troop or military vehicle movements. In addition, it should be mentioned that the claims regarding the DHS hazmat fleet are somewhat suspect and have yet, to my knowledge at least, been proven or corroborated.

Nevertheless, in the midst of this mystery, one thing is for certain – something is happening in Michigan. The only question is what it is and why it is being covered up. At the very least, why the silence?

As Bob Powell concluded:
If you’re looking for information in the local media, good luck. Because they’re not saying a word.

Anti-surveillance App Developer Targeted at Border by Department of Homeland Security

In yet another example of the ever growing reach of the American Homeland Security state, Cryptocat developer Nadim Kobeissi, who is Canadian, claims to have been detained on four separate occasions at the US/Canadian border by the Department of Homeland Security in the last three weeks.

While detention and harassment at the border by DHS is unfortunately nothing new, what is interesting is the major topic of Kobeissi’s interrogations. In this case, it was Kobeissi’s open source chat app, Cryptocat that seems to have raised the eyebrows of someone in the upper reaches of DHS.

As Jon Matonis of Forbes states, DHS interrogators were curious about which encryption algorithms are deployed by Cryptocat as well as the level of censorship resistance held by the program.
Cryptocat is an app that establishes a secure, encrypted chat session that is allegedly not subject to government or commercial surveillance. As Matonis writes:
It uses client-side JavaScript to implement 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard for message encryption and Elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman for key agreement. Similar to the Off-the-record Messaging (OTR) cryptographic protocol available via plugin, Cryptocat generates new key pairs for every chat implementing a form of perfect forward secrecy and deniable encryption. However, the web-based Cryptocat can also accommodate multiple parties to an encrypted chat session.
Cryptocat is different from other programs using cryptography that produce a record and identities of the users along with the ability for verification. This is because Kobeissi’s new app uses “perfect forward secrecy” which allegedly leaves no trace.
The potential effects of this new development on privacy are startling, particularly for activists and journalists wishing to keep sources confidential. The technology, if it works as claimed, is essentially able to shield communications between individuals engaging in online chats.

Yet some go even further. For instance, in a presentation by RT regarding Cryptocat, the new app was even referred to as CISPA’s kryptonite “because it’s a service that denies third-party access to private conversations online thereby making the Cyber Intelligence Sharing Protection Act largely irrelevant.”

Of course, Cryptocrat is an impressive development. However, one should be very careful about assuming that those involved in the creation of the digital control grid have been outdone by any new introduction of technology. After all, agencies like DARPA and the more secretive agencies are generally light years ahead of anything released to the general public.

In a world where total surveillance is not only possible but has actually been realized, it is not wise to assume that one app will produce a chink in the armor of the overarching control system. This type of technological development most likely has been anticipated long ago.

Indeed, instead of fearing the potential of activists utilizing the system for revolution, it seems much more logical that it would be government agencies who would take the most advantage of the technology than anything or anyone else.

For instance, one should keep in mind that, while “flash mobs” organized to protest the Federal Reserve were immediately crushed as a result of government surveillance, the Arab Spring, which is mentioned by Matinos of Forbes, was actually facilitated by western/NATO governments using digital methods like Twitter and Facebook.

It is also suspect that Kobeissi was detained at the border in an attempt by government agents to understand his technology. It is much more realistic to assume that the repeated interrogations were being used in order to discourage both Kobeissi and other developers from attempting to create any form of anti-surveillance technology that isn’t produced and subsequently introduced at the pre-determined time all the way from the top. Such technology will obviously have built-in surveillance backdoors even as it touts secrecy and security.

If Cryptocrat is, however, an actual method of shielding private conversations, then the need of the Homeland Security state to confound and dismantle it as soon as possible should be obvious to anyone.

Interestingly enough, Kobeissi is not the only developer to be harassed by US government agents upon entering the country. Last year, a Chinese Bitcoin developer was interrogated for hours by US Customs agents about how Bitcoin worked, where he got them, and how he traded them for actual money. Eventually, he was denied entry into the country.

Programmer and activist, David House, co-founder of the Bradley Manning Support Network, even had his electronics confiscated upon reentering the country. House was also grilled about his political activities, even though those activities are clearly protected under the law and the Constitution.

All three of these individuals were caught in the SSSS (Secondary Security Screening Selection) designation that Muslims have been subjected to for years since the false flag attacks of 9/11. These SSSS designations result in the unfortunate individual receiving extensive searches and interrogations which can last for hours on end.

At the very least, however, such obnoxious border “security” has drawn the ire of the ACLU which is now questioning some of the authorities claimed by the government at ports of entry. The Massachussetts ACLU is even suing the Department of Homeland Security for the treatment of David House.

As Privacysos.org writes:

Special border rules shouldn’t grant the government the authority to skirt the Fourth Amendment or subject people to political interrogations.
Nevertheless, harassing and denying entry to programmers and political activists is only part of the story regarding the increasingly open authoritarian makeup of border security. Indeed, this type of treatment is not unique only to those mentioned in this article.

For instance, well-known author and researcher Daniel Estulin has been denied entry into the United States simply for his coverage of the annual Bilderberg Meetings.

From identification programs like IDENT and S-COMM to the expansion of Border Patrol checkpoints a hundred miles inside the United States, the constant harassment of citizens in the name of “border security” is clearly on the upsurge despite being in direct violation of the Constitution.

Regardless of the reasons for the detention and interrogation of the aforementioned programmers, the fact is that they are not the first individuals to be greeted with Gestapo-like tactics upon entering the country.

Unfortunately, unless something is done soon, they will not be the last.

Bilderberg 2012 Marks a Turning Point in Focused and Cooperative Activism

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post
June 4, 2012

The 2012 Bilderberg meeting at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, Virginia marked the first time I have attended a protest geared toward exposing this particular private cabal which is instrumental in choosing Presidents and Vice Presidents, as well as determining the life and death of millions of people and the economic fate of billions more.

I honestly had no idea what to expect as I made my way to the hotel. Being a realist by nature, I expected to encounter heavy security and only a handful of determined protesters carrying signs and repeating anti-Bilderberg chants; typical protest stuff.

What I found, however, was somewhat of a surprise. Of course, the heavy police presence was exactly what I expected. But there was significantly more than a mere handful of protesters waiting at the hotel entrance. In fact, the crowd was about three times the size I thought it would be. Obviously, the signs were there and so were the chants. But there was no doubt that this protest was something different.

I must admit that it is difficult to describe in words just what was so different about this demonstration as compared to others I have attended in the past. Indeed, after talking with other activists, journalists, and demonstrators, I have found that the majority of them have come away with the same outlook regarding this year’s Bilderberg meeting. That is, that they took part in something special this weekend and that the protest surrounding Bilderberg 2012 was some kind of a turning point.

In truth, the size of the crowd was secondary to the energy it produced, and the energy surrounding the overall event.

The political makeup of the protesters was extremely diverse with libertarians, socialists, anarchists, war veterans, anti-war activists, Christians, New-Agers, Occupy protesters, and those with no affiliation whatsoever coming together not as a mob but as a grouping of Individuals who have the same goals and interests.

Throughout the demonstration, one could walk through the crowd and witness discussions and debates, all of them mutually respectful, regarding history, philosophies, and solutions.

One such debate was a conversation captured on camera between Webster Tarpley and Adam Kokesh, two individuals of very different backgrounds and political pedigrees, but who are nevertheless in complete agreement about the dangers posed to the world population by cabals such as the Bilderberg Group.

As I mentioned above, the electric energy present at Bilderberg was both unmistakable and indescribable. There were even times when it felt as if there was some kind of unconscious telepathy taking place between the protesters, as one could immediately pick out other activists when walking down the street far from the hotel itself. No one needed to be decked out in political shirts or carrying signs – you just knew.  I truly felt there was no need to formally introduce myself to other demonstrators because, from the moment I reached the event, it felt as if I was visiting a group of old friends and family.

In fact, the protest felt more like a festival than a demonstration. Although Mark Dice was obviously making a joke by dubbing the demonstration “Bilderfest 2012,” it was also an accurate description of the event. Adam Kokesh felt the same way as he described the protest as a “summit” for alternative media.

Author JG Vibes agrees when he writes:
Everyone was well aware that they were standing just yards away from some of the most evil conversations that could possibly be taking place, but that didn’t mean that the atmosphere outside had to take the same tone.
This statement brings us to another aspect of this protest that made it so different from all the others. The 2012 Bilderberg Demonstration exhibited a startling lack of anger and hatred; rather it was an startling amount of love and commitment to one other that defined the atmosphere. This is not to say that the protesters were not angry or that they didn’t hate the criminals meeting inside the hotel; it is to say that the anger they carried was not the anger that consumes the one that harbors it. It was the kind of anger that produces peaceful resistance and productive change.

Even in the midst of the heavy police presence and the fact that, only a few yards away from them, plans were being made to further tighten the noose fastened around the neck of the general population, the activists maintained this spirit of love and community, all the while making enough noise to cause at least some disruption of the globalists meeting inside the hotel.

Again, as JG Vibes writes:
The vibe outside was one of celebration, love, togetherness, and peaceful resistance. Everyone was excited to share that moment with one another, and were excited to see such an unprecedented turnout for something that has remained secret for so many years.
In terms of community I, myself, was thrilled to meet so many people of like minds and to have the opportunity to discuss with them the issues that have become such guiding factors in all of our lives. I was also immeasurably pleased to meet one of the individuals who played a role in my own awakening, as well as several other activists, researchers, and journalists whose work I have greatly admired from a distance for some time.

In all honesty, when I first realized that I would have this opportunity, I must confess at having some question in the back of my mind as to whether or not some of these individuals are as real and sincere as they have presented themselves to be through their public work. After all, such doubt and possibility is human nature.

However, I am now pleased to say that, although I only met them briefly, I am convinced that they are indeed as sincere and dedicated as they appear to be from a distance. There is no question in my mind that these people are absolutely determined to promote freedom and humanity in the face of the obstacles currently placed in front of us.

With this in mind, it is important for all of us to remember that we may disagree with each other’s political philosophies and methods of presentation, but we cannot allow these disagreements to divide us. We must be able to hold views that are different from those around us while still working together for the same common goal. Not only that, we must maintain the ability to be respectful and tolerant of each other on those issues and areas where we may disagree.

Lastly, we cannot forget to mention the man who dedicated so many years of his life to exposing this secretive cabal of globalists known as the Bilderberg Group. Jim Tucker has been following and reporting on Bilderberg for well over thirty years and, for most of those years, was labeled a conspiracy theorist by almost everyone in the mainstream media and ignored by all the rest.

When Tucker first began his work against Bilderberg, he was laughed at, ridiculed, and ostracized. No one showed up to protest the meetings because virtually no one knew about them. No mainstream news agencies followed up on his reports because they were owned by the individuals he was trying to expose. Even many outside of the mainstream media were reluctant to follow this rabbit hole any further.

One can only imagine the discouragement Tucker must have felt as he watched his reports -- which were the result of a great deal of hard and dangerous work, as well as financial and geographical inconvenience -- be so easily dismissed the moment they were released.

Yet he still persisted where most others would have given up long ago.

Now, over thirty years later, not even the mainstream media can continue calling Jim Tucker a conspiracy theorist with any sincerity.

What he was once laughed at for reporting, the London Telegraph, London Guardian, Washington Post, and Washington Times have now been forced to address in their own publications.

While once following and infiltrating Bilderberg alone, Tucker is now greeted by close to a thousand protesters. He is now standing side by side with a large contingent of the alternative media and even a tiny portion of those from the mainstream.

Although Tucker has grown much older since his first exposé of Bilderberg many years ago, I cannot help but to express immense joy that he has been able to live to see his tireless effort and often thankless work turn into such an event, and to know that it is largely because of him that demonstrations like Bilderberg 2012 are taking place. Such is an honor that many men never receive and it is one that Jim Tucker truly deserves. Indeed, it is thanks to Jim Tucker that Bilderberg is greeted with a growing number of protesters and new leaks every year.

Although these meetings are still conducted in the dark, they are forced to work harder and harder to dodge the light.
