Leaked 2009 Cable Labels Saudi Arabia 'Most Significant Source Of Funding To Terrorist Groups Worldwide' - Exposes Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, And Pakistan

While the Saudi military continues to besiege Yemen and create the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet today, the United States also continues to arm and abet KSA in their war against the Yemeni people. Yemen, of course, is nothing more than a proxy war against Iran and a geopolitical chess move on the part of both the Saudis and the Americans and, for that reason, no amount of war crimes and intentional targeting of civilians has warranted anything more than a tepid criticism of the Saudis by the current US administration.

The Saudis, because of their oil and money, are untouchables. KSA can kill journalists in an open and brutal fashion, chop off heads in the city square, oppress its female population like no other country in the world, and launch unjustified wars with no consequence. KSA can even fund and direct terrorist organizations across the world with very little restraint.

That the United States has been well aware of the Saudi financing of terrorist organizations is no secret and has been revealed on numerous occasions. It has also been documented that the United States works closely with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf State feudal monarchies in the use of those terrorists around the world to further its own political and geopolitical aims.

In terms of money alone, however, Saudi Arabia is unparalleled in the ranks of nations that finance terrorism. In fact, in a leaked 2009 State Department cable and published by Wikileaks, the United States referred to KSA as the “most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide.”

The cable, signed by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, states that Saudi Arabia “remains a critical financial support base for al-Qaida, the Taliban, LeT and other terrorist groups.” See “Terrorist Finance: Action Request For Senior Level Engagement On Terrorist Finance.”

Multiple Motives Exist As Reason For Turkish Invasion Of Syria

Turkey has invaded Syria to fight against the Kurds. Turkey is fighting alongside FSA terrorists while the United States, a Turkish ally is fighting alongside Kurdish terrorists. The Syrian military is pushing northwest toward Idlib city and the Russian, Iranian, and Hezbollah forces remain in the country to stabilize the situation and defeat jihadist groups continuing to operate there. The Kurds work with the FSA but the FSA is now working with the Turks. The FSA also works with the United States who in turn works with the Kurds.

This is a brief example of the complexities of the Syrian crisis, exacerbated by recent events. For most casual observers, it is becoming harder to determine who is fighting who and likewise who is working together. With so many competing agendas and interests, the waters have become so muddied even researchers and journalists familiar with the crisis are less clear as to what is happening in Syria right now.

In order to understand what is currently taking place in Syria, it is important to understand the interests of the parties involved. Quite simply, one needs to know what these parties want. After understanding the agenda of the nations taking part in the conflict, it will be easier to understand the possibilities in terms of where the recent Turk invasion is going to take Turkey, Syria, the United States, the Middle East, and the world.

All Signs Point To Western-Backed Destabilization In Iran - U.S., Israel, Saudi Arabia Implicated

The signs that the protests in Iran are indeed a Western destabilization campaign are growing with each passing day. Regardless of whatever legitimacy these protests may have had at the beginning (agitation for greater freedoms and improved methods of handling the economy, etc.), they have now devolved into an attempt to weaken and unseat the current Iranian government. With pro-Western foreign policy demands and vague calls being made against the fabric of the government itself in addition to shadowy shooters and violent assaults on security, government, and even opposition members, a number of actors involved in the protests are emerging which suggest a coordinated Western/Israeli/GCC color revolution/destabilization operation.

The Involvement Of MEK

A recent piece by Newsweek entitled, “Iran Protests: Who Are The Iranian Opposition And Who Will Rule If The Regime Falls?” attempts to paint a picture of the opposition marching through the streets in Iran and, more importantly, what factions of Iranian society that might take power if something did occur to overthrow the Iranian government. One of the factions mentioned by Newsweek is the MEK (Mujhadeen al-Khalq), the radical Marxist extremist organization that has not only been at odds with the religious dictatorship of the Ayatollah but who has also collaborated with the Israelis on numerous occasions, including the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists. The MEK was previously listed as a terrorist organization by the United States but delisted by the Obama administration.

As Damascus residents are once again suffering under indiscriminate shelling and mortars launched by terrorists, it is important to once again draw attention to a recent secret document released by Edward Snowden showing that previous indiscriminate missile launches against civilians were entirely controlled and ordered by foreign powers like Saudi Arabia. These attacks were also known in advance by the United States which evidently had no qualms with them.

As Murtaza Hussain wrote for The Intercept,

A loosely knit collection of Syrian rebel fighters set up positions on March 18, 2013, and fired several barrages of rockets at targets in the heart of Damascus, Bashar al-Assad’s capital. The attack was a brazen show of force by rebels under the banner of the Free Syrian Army, targeting the presidential palace, Damascus International Airport, and a government security compound. It sent a chilling message to the regime about its increasingly shaky hold on the country, two years after an uprising against its rule began. 

Behind the attacks, the influence of a foreign power loomed. According to a top-secret National Security Agency document provided by whistleblower Edward Snowden, the March 2013 rocket attacks were directly ordered by a member of the Saudi royal family, Prince Salman bin Sultan, to help mark the second anniversary of the Syrian revolution. Salman had provided 120 tons of explosives and other weaponry to opposition forces, giving them instructions to “light up Damascus” and “flatten” the airport, the document, produced by U.S. government surveillance on Syrian opposition factions, shows. 

Leaked Documents Reveal Israel Attempt To Capitalize On Hariri Resignation; Possible Collusion With KSA

Shortly after the Saudi crackdown began and was followed up by the resignation of Lebanese president Saad Hariri, it was noted by many researchers and alt media journalists that Hariri’s bizarre method of vacating his post was influenced by Saudi Arabia for the purpose of weakening Hezbollah and Iran in Lebanon. In addition, I suggested in my previous article that it is highly unlikely that KSA would engage in such a dangerous and wide-reaching action without coordination with the United States and Israel.

Documents have now been obtained and subsequently released by Israeli media outlets that reveal possible evidence of coordination and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Israel as it relates to Iran and Hezbollah.

Barak Ravid, the Israeli reporter who first obtained the documents and senior diplomatic correspondent for Channel 10 News, reported the following on Twitter on November 6:

I published on channel 10 a cable sent to Israeli diplomats asking to lobby for Saudis/Harir and against Hezbollah. The cable sent from the MFA in Jerusalem [Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs] to all Israeli embassies toes the Saudi line regarding the Hariri resignation. 

• The Israeli diplomats were instructed to demarch their host governments over the domestic political situation in Lebanon – a very rare move. 
• The cable said: “You need to stress that the Hariri resignation shows how dangerous Iran and Hezbollah are for Lebanon’s security.” 
• “Hariri’s resignation proves wrong the argument that Hezbollah participation in the government stabilizes Lebanon,” the cable added. 
• The cable instructed Israeli diplomats to support Saudi Arabia over its war with the Houthis in Yemen. The cable also stressed: “The missile launch by the Houthis towards Riyadh calls for applying more pressure on Iran & Hezbollah.” 

Shakeup In Saudi Arabia, Hariri Resignation, And Threats Of War Spell Possible Chaos In Middle East

Over the past few days, a series of events have occurred which rocked the geopolitical scene and effecting a number of countries specifically such as Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. Naturally, the events that taking place in these locations are immensely important for the rest of the world and, for that reason, other regional and international players are being drawn into the drama as well.

While it would be foolish to pretend to know all the details taking place behind the scenes, we are still able to analyze current events in order to attempt to gain a greater understanding of where the situation is heading and thus have a better understanding of how to respond to them. The article that follows is simply an attempt to point to the most logical conclusion regarding these events.

The Saudi Purge

Beginning the sequence of events that have now culminated with thinly veiled hints at actual war between at least three nations, the Saudi purge began with little warning and is continuing today. Essentially, under the guise of a massive anti-corruption push, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman launched a campaign that saw a volley of arrests of officials, royal family members, government officials, and members of the Saudi military. At least eleven princes were arrested by security forces, including Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a well-known billionaire investor, and four ministers, including the minister in charge of the National Guard. Several former ministers were also arrested. A highly suspicious helicopter crash that was carrying Saudi Prince Mansour bin Muqrin, deputy governor of Saudi Arabia’s southern Asir Province, along with seven other high ranking officials, should also be noted since all eight men were killed in the crash.

In an interview with Muslim Press, Brandon Turbeville, a Middle East commentator, said, “Saudi Arabia has no one to blame for the missile in Riyadh but itself.”
“KSA has been responsible for creating the worst humanitarian disaster of the 21st century,” he said, in reference to Saudi military campaign against Yemen.

It came after the Yemeni army targeted Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid international airport in Riyadh with a long distance Borkan H2 ballistic missile.

Mr. Turbeville was asked to comment on the recent developments surrounding Saudi Arabia, including the sudden resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the Saudi-led war with Yemen, the kingdon's anti-corruption move, and Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas's trip to Riyadh.

Leaked Documents Purport To Show How The U.S., Gulf Countries Ship Weapons To Terrorists Using Diplomatic Flight Cover

A recent report by Bulgarian journalist Dilyana Gaytandzhieva entitled, “350 Diplomatic Flights Carry Weapons For Terrorists,” may very well have blown the lid on a secret program to provide weapons to terrorists in Iraq and Syria as well as anti-Houthi militants in Yemen. Gaytandzhieva’s report claims that the documents leaked to her by anonymous sources show that the Azberbaijani airline Silk Way Airlines was contracted by companies in the United States, Israel, and the Balkans to the militaries of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates as well as U.S. Special Ops. Gaytandzhieva’s own on-the-ground reporting also uncovered many weapons related to this secret trade in Aleppo after she had traveled there to investigate the story.

Although Gaytandzhieva’s report is months old, it gained wider traction in the alternative media after it was revealed she was subsequently interrogated by Bulgaria’s intelligence services and then fired from her newspaper because of the story.

Gaytandzhieva reports that at least 350 diplomatic flights by Silk Way Airlines (an Azeri state-run company) transported weapons all across the world to various war zones over the past three years. She writes that the planes carried “tens of tons of heavy weapons and ammunition headed to terrorists under the cover of diplomatic flights.” Gaytandzhieva says that the documents implicating Silk Way Airlines were sent to her on Twitter by Anonymous Bulgaria.

U.S. Troops On The Ground In Yemen, Bombing Missions For Strategic Alliance

Quietly, the United States has managed to turn its war on Yemen from a “leading from behind with a lot of technical assistance” program to a “if you want something done right, do it yourself” system. While the U.S. has repeatedly referred to the crime against humanity launched against the Yemeni people by Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. as KSA’s war, it has provided both with large of amounts of technical assistance, intelligence, and equipment with which to fight it.

The United States has even engaged in direct combat from time to time, including a now infamous operation that left one Navy SEAL dead.

Now, however, the U.S. has stepped up its involvement to joint operations with Saudi and Emirati forces on the ground in Yemen. The operations have been reported on by the mainstream press but in scant articles that only hint around at the scope of American involvement. This has led many to suspect that the Americans are more heavily involved than what is being made public.

As the Washington Post reports,

A contingent of U.S. troops is involved in a Yemeni operation to push al-Qaeda militants from one of their key strongholds in central Yemen, the Pentagon said Friday. 

A small number of troops are there to help with “intelligence sharing,” Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said, though he did not rule out that more U.S. forces could be committed to the operation in the coming weeks.

“It’s hard to make predictions here,” said Brandon Turbeville, host of a weekly radio show Truth on the Tracks, in response to what the future would hold for The Independent after a Saudi investor bought significant stakes in the liberal icon of UK media.

The news came just days ago, when the Middle East Eye revealed that Sultan Mohamed Abuljadayel, a Saudi-based Saudi Arabian national, has acquired up to 50 percent of the Independent website.

Abuljadayel, 42, has taken a stake of between 25% and 50% in Independent Digital News and Media, the holding company of the Independent, according to filings at Companies House.

“Let's face it,” Mr. Turbeville said, “The Independent was not actually independent before sultan purchased his share.”

“It was controlled by an oligarch beforehand and now it is simply controlled by two oligarchs.”

Who is Sultan Muhammad Abuljadayel?

Amol Rajan, former editor of The Independent, says Abuljadayel is a rich man who wants to be richer. He went on to describe Abuljadayel as “a Saudi investor seeking influence.”

“Money and influence are the two main reasons that people invest in media, and there's no reason to think Abuljadayel is any different,” Mr. Rajan added.

Saudi Arabia Showing Signs Of Support For Kurdish Fighters, Shows Possible Rift With Turkey Over Qatar

Only days after the falling out between Saudi Arabia and Qatar that resulted in a virtual blockade of Qatar by Gulf countries and Egypt, overtures are apparently being made between Saudi Arabia and Kurdish political and military units. While many may not understand the connection between the two events, rest assured there is a direct cause- and –effect between the Qatari row and the newfound interest in Kurds by Saudi Arabia.

Shortly after the Qatari isolation, Turkey announced that not only was it not taking part in the isolation, but that it was moving troops to a base in Qatar. Turkey did not take part in the movement against Qatar likely because of Qatari support for the Muslim Brotherhood, a powerful force in Turkey to which Erdogan is close to say the least. Thus, with both Turkey and Qatar engaged in supporting the Brotherhood and terrorists in Syria, it was logical that the two would retain ties.

Saudi Arabia, however, having long worried about Muslim Brotherhood activity in KSA (and for other reasons) and the country leading the charge against Qatar is thus now sending overtures toward Kurdish forces in all four countries – Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. These overtures, some analysts suspect, may very well turn into direct financial payments at some point in the future.

Although it appears that direct payments or official support has yet to take place, Saudi social media is alight with pro-Kurdish sentiment and hashtags like #saudiwithkurdistan. This is notable because, in Saudi Arabia, social media is heavily restricted, almost to the point of being state run and users are always in danger of being brutally punished for even the most routine statements.

The fact that the Kurdish fighting units are the enemy of Turkey and that Saudi Arabia might be open to supporting them signals that Turkey is going to be punished by KSA for its support of Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood. The United States has also offered greater support to Kurdish fighters, particularly in Syria, and Kurdish Iraqis have finally set a date on their “Referendum” on independence set to take place in September, 2017. Both the Turkish and Iraqi governments have condemned the latter moves but the United States has remained silent.

Why Has The GCC and Egypt Turned On Qatar?

In a shocking move, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain led banded together to cut ties with Qatar at the same time, leaving much of the world stunned. Even more unexpected was the reason given by Saudi Arabia; i.e. that Qatar is supporting terrorism. The demands made by the anti-Qatar coalition were that Qatar cease funding “terrorist organizations” (Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas) before ties are restored.

The recent isolation of Qatar by Saudi Arabia and several other Gulf State countries as well as Egypt caught many in the geopolitical world by surprise and has left many people scratching their heads as to why such a willing and active player in worldwide destabilization would suddenly be abandoned by several of the states that have colluded with it in the past. The answer is anything but simple but it is actually more logical than how it might appear on the surface.

The Muslim Brotherhood Element

In order to understand the recent diplomatic crisis, it is first important to note which countries have cut ties with Qatar. These countries are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. Laughably, these countries are justifying their actions on the basis that Qatar is funding terrorism.

Of course, Qatar is funding terrorists much like Saudi Arabia and UAE. For the latter two countries to claim that funding terrorism is a reason for them to sever ties with Qatar is not only hypocritical it is laughably obvious that is merely a cover for the real reason for the row. Egypt, while not a supporter of terrorism, is nonetheless entering into a coalition with two countries who are and thus makes itself almost as much of a hypocrite as KSA and UAE.

Awkward! State Dept Spokesman Freezes When Questioned About KSA “Democracy”

Mark Toner and Peter Kirby are very happy men today. Their humiliating performances regarding the question of Syria is now no longer the most embarrassing moments for a State Department Spokesman over the last decade.

Shortly after Mark Toner couldn’t answer whether or not ISIS was “the greater evil” when compared to the secular government of Bashar al-Assad, Peter Kirby, perhaps one of the most arrogant of all State Department spokesmen, was crushed by a reporter who responded to his calls for evidence with actual evidence. After Kirby was forced to look at pictures that disproved the State Department’s line on “activists” and “on the ground” reporting from the American media based on terrorist Twitter accounts, Kirby was forced to back up and admit that “people will have to decide for themselves what they’re going to find credible and what they’re not going to find credible.”

But while Toner gave up his title to Kirby quickly, it appeared Kirby was going to keep the championship belt of humiliation for eternity. That is, until Stuart Jones, acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, appeared on the scene.

During the campaign, his presidency, and even on a recent trip to Saudi Arabia, Donald Trump repeatedly accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism and pointed out that Iran is not a democracy. He stated that the Iranian people are oppressed by the Iranian “regime” which he characterized as being one of religious extremism. Trump’s hypocrisy was noted but, of course, not adequately called out in the pages and blog posts of the corporate media.

So when a reported actually dared to ask a real question of Jones, the Assistant Secretary was literally speechless. In fact, Jones was so speechless for so long that he even made Obama without a teleprompter look good. Some viewers even thought the video froze at one point because Jones himself appeared frozen, gazing ahead with an empty stare, a deer in the headlights, his mouth gaping wide open. The question was simple enough. Could Jones “characterize Saudi Arabia’s commitment to democracy and does the administration believe that democracy is a buffer or barrier against extremism?”

‘US-Riyadh arms deal will ensure Saudis will continue slaughtering Yemenis’

In an interview with Muslim Press, Brandon Turbeville said that U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent arms deal with Saudi Arabia will ensure that “the Saudis will continue to engage in wholesale slaughter in Yemen and perhaps even engage in military operations in other places.”

Muslim Press: What’s the significance of Trump’s Middle East tour? What was he looking for during his trip?

Brandon Turbeville: Trump’s Middle East tour was bound to happen sooner or later. All American Presidents have to go and grovel to Israel and Saudi Arabia at some point during their career. Obviously, the Israeli element was simply more American groveling, ensuring that the Israelis and the Zionist lobby are comfortable with a Trump administration. But the question is also “why now?” It’s been known for decades that, when a President is having trouble at home, a foreign trip tends to ease some of the pressure as Americans will be focused on the outcome of the trip. That seems to have helped a little but probably not as much as Trump had hoped. The Deep State and the leftists are still screaming about “Russian ties” and whatever else they can come up with here at home. Ultimately, Trump has reassured Saudi Arabia that all his rhetoric on the campaign trail was just that – rhetoric. The U.S. and KSA can now resume business as usual.

MP: What could you say about his anti-Iran rhetoric? How likely is a conflict with Iran?

Brandon Turbeville: His anti-Iran rhetoric was even present on the campaign trail. It was one of the few things he was actually consistent about. Now that he’s president, the rhetoric is taking on an even more dangerous configuration because now he (or more truthfully the Deep State apparatus) has the ability to act on that rhetoric. I think a conflict with Iran is very likely in the future. Iran was always next on the chopping block after Syria and, even though Syria has not fallen like it was intended, the state has been significantly weakened by six years of war. It seems like the West is working toward partition and, once that has been accomplished, Iran will start to see the sights of the West set upon it. I would also suggest that, this time, I don’t think Iran will be looking at color revolutions and proxy terrorists but at direct Western and Israeli military assaults. I would suggest taking a look at the Brookings Institution document entitled “Which Path To Persia,” which highlights some of the options the United States is looking at in terms of how a war with Iran could be initiated. Some involved color revolutions. Some involve proxy terrorists like in Syria and Libya. Some involve direct invasion. Others involve the use of Israeli strikes and provocations that force Iran to respond, and thus the United States can intervene as if it is protecting its Israeli ally. Christian Zionism is incredibly popular here in the U.S. and that rationale is likely to sell easily to a large part of the population. I highly recommend reading that Brookings document. It can easily be found on the internet.

Trump Administration To Supply Saudis, Kuwait With $1.85 Billion In Arms

While candidate Trump was rather harsh on the terrorist financing Neanderthal government of Saudi Arabia, President Trump doesn’t seem as if he is going to be as tough. This is because, on Monday, January 23, the U.S. State Department announced the first arm sales of the Trump administration. In this announcement, it was revealed that $1.85 billion worth of material will be sold to both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Approval of the arms deal must be approved by Congress before actually taking place.

As the Washington Post writes,

The sales, once finalized, will send $525 million in observation balloons to Saudi Arabia; $400 million in helicopter gunship parts and air-to-air missiles to Kuwait; and $400 million in maintenance support for Britain’s fleet of C-17 cargo jets. On Thursday, the day before Trump’s inauguration, the State Department notified Congress it was prepared to sell Kenya $418 million in propeller-driven close air support aircraft and their accompanying weapons but only publicly announced the deal Monday. The awkward-looking aircraft, known as the Air Tractor 802L, will likely be used by Kenyan forces to hunt the terrorist group al-Shabab.

This is despite the fact that the Saudis are launching a horrific war against Houthi rebels in Yemen where the Saudi aerial bombing campaign has killed a staggering number of civilians and has essentially destroyed most of the country. The Saudis have virtually reduced Yemen back to the Stone Age and created one of the worst humanitarian catastrophes in the world, even rivaling the crisis in Syria, which the Saudis have also been instrumental in creating.

Syria Ambassador Reveals Names Of Alleged Western/Saudi/GCC Intelligence Agents Trapped In East Aleppo

While the United States has harped for over five years about the “humanitarian crisis” and manufactured Syrian government “crimes against humanity,” the recent hysteria over “civilians” trapped in East Aleppo has really taken the cake. Now, however, after hearing about how Assad has “barrel bombed,” “tortured,” “burned alive,” and otherwise maimed civilians in East Aleppo (who are themselves committing mass suicide to evade Syrian government forces according to mainstream outlets), the real reason for the increase in hysteria has finally come to light.

The real reason for America’s concern is not because of civilians at all or even because of their terrorist proxies who will soon be totally annihilated in East Aleppo. It is because their own intelligence officers are stuck in East Aleppo, completely surrounded by Syrian military forces, and their capture will not only weaken the Western operation in the country, it will reveal to the world what most already know – that the U.S. and its allies are working hand-in-glove with the terrorists it claims are moderates.

This is precisely what Syria’s ambassador to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar al-Ja’afari, stated when he released the names of these intelligence officers in an address before reporters at the U.N. After a sarcastic remark about how the operatives were “nice people,” a reporter asked about the list of intelligence operatives. سرویس جهان مشرق- پیروزی دانلد ترامپ در انتخابات ریاست‌جمهوری آمریکا، نه تنها مردم این کشور، بلکه تمام مردم دنیا را حیرت‌زده کرد. فردی که بارها «دلقک»(1)، «روانی»، «دیوانه» و مانند این‌ها توصیف شده(2)، قرار است از اوایل سال 2017 میلادی ریاست‌جمهوری آمریکا را به عهده بگیرد.

U.S. War Policy Has Created The Multi-polar World

As the United States squanders the enormous good will and respect it once had by marching forward on the tired legs of a dying empire, the U.S.’ enemies-of-its-own-making are beginning to forge new alliances that might not have been a reality had the U.S. at the very least pursued a strategy of positive reinforcement and cooperation as opposed to a policy of tension, pillage, and war.

The first major crack in the iron curtain of the Anglo-American world hegemon started becoming apparent with the emergence of the U.S. destabilization and proxy war against Syria. While the NATO/American proxy war has left hundreds of thousands of Syrians dead, hundreds of thousands more displaced, and destroyed much of the Syrian infrastructure as well as crippled the Syrian economy, another result of American policy in Syria is that it has strengthened and even created alliances that otherwise may not have existed not only between Middle Eastern countries but European, Asian, and African nations as well.

Unfortunately for the United States, these new alliances of its targers were created out of a political, economic, and military necessity by which to survive the Western onslaught of destabilization, sanctions, and war aimed at these respective nations. Thus, if the West wanted to break resistance to its hegemonic system, it has managed instead to encourage the opposite.

While already an axis of mutual interest, the crisis in Syria has resulted in the strengthening of ties between Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah. Not only a strategic alliance, this arc of resistance has solidified ties that are slowly pulling Iraq away from the influence of the United States. Indeed, the Iraqis are still tethered to the United States due largely to bribery, deception, economic threats, and the decreasing dependency on the United States for military assistance to combat ISIS.

No longer content to lead from behind with the occasional drone bomb, the United States has now resorted to launching missiles from battleships off the Yemeni coast into the embattled nation. Having launched attacks at several Houthi “command and control” centers allegedly housing radar, the U.S. is once again only entrenching its position as a great force for evil and destruction the world over.

Per the usual, the U.S. justification for the attack is questionable at best, and, in the end, an example of just how arrogant and aggressive U.S. foreign policy is toward the rest of the world and, in particular, those nations and forces who do not capitulate to U.S. interests.

According to mainstream press reports and the U.S. government itself, the United States responded to alleged missiles being fired from Houthi-occupied territory at the U.S. battleship U.S.S. Mason. After four alleged missiles being fired in two alleged separate incidents, the U.S. ship, which was operating off the coast of Yemen, fired missiles at the Houthi radar locations.

The Western press has, of course, responded in a predictable fashion by rushing to point out that the U.S. position was entirely justified and was nothing more than retaliation at unprovoked threats produced by the “Iranian proxies” fighting against the democratic kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s invasion of Yemeni territory.

“For the United States, it was simple retaliation: Rebels in Yemen had fired missiles at an American warship twice in four days, and so the United States hit back, destroying rebel radar facilities with missiles,” reads a report in the New York Times. But the framing of the incident assumes that the Houthis actually fired the missiles and that the U.S. merely acted in self-defense and retaliation. It also assumes that the U.S. was justified for having its ships off the coast of Yemen to begin with.
