'7 Countries In 5 Years:" 2007 Wesley Clark Interview Reveals US Plan To Go To War With Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Somalia, And Sudan

After the scrapping of the Iran nuclear deal by the Trump administration, the re-imposition of sanctions against the Persian nation, and the threat to impose the “toughest sanctions in history,” the US gear up to destabilize or perhaps even go to war with Iran is becoming more and more visible by the day. A war of words between Iran and the United States is now ensuing with actual military aggression against Iran by Israel in Syria is promising to provide an even greater likelihood that the U.S. military and America’s busy intelligence community will soon be working even harder to ensure that Iran is no longer able to resist Atlanticist hegemony.

However, the plan to destroy Iran is nothing new as anyone who has been following the US war machine can easily attest to.

For those who are unaware as to the recent history of the American plan to destroy Iran in the same manner as Afghanistan, Libya, and Iraq (and attempted against Syria), it is important to mention a 2007 interview with US General Wesley Clark who, during the course of a talk with Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, revealed a Pentagon plan to destroy Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran. Clark revealed his shock and surprise at a plan to not only invade Iraq after 9/11 but also to invade seven countries within five years.

Wesley Clark, of course, was no conspiracy theorist. He's also not peace activist. Remember, he was a retired 4-star general and was the former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO during the devastating 1999 war against Yugoslavia where he personally ordered attacks on civilian targets.

Clark's statements are yet more evidence that the plan to go to war with Iraq, Iran, Libya, and Syria is not some recent creation but a carefully constructed scheme thought out years ago and one that is proceeding according to plan.

U.S. Sends 'Dozens' Of Soldiers To 'Advise' In Somalia

As if America’s previous experience in Somalia was not memorable enough, the United States is committing “dozens” of troops to the embattled semi-failed state under the ever-present guise of “fighting terrorism.”

In an exclusive report from American propaganda outlet, Voice of America, it was stated,

Dozens of American soldiers have deployed to Mogadishu to train and equip Somali and AMISOM (African Union Mission in Somalia) forces fighting extremism in Somalia, U.S. military officials told VOA.

The troops' arrival marks the first presence of American military forces in Somalia, other than a small unit of counterterrorism advisers, since March 1994 when the U.S. pulled out of the U.N. intervention operation in the war-torn state, five months after 18 U.S. special forces personnel were killed in a battle with Somali militiamen that inspired the movie Black Hawk Down.

"United States Africa Command will conduct various security cooperation and/or security force assistance events in Somalia in order to assist our allies and partners," U.S. Africa Command spokesman Pat Barnes told VOA on Thursday.

A U.S. military official told VOA that the troops are arriving in Somalia at the request of the Somali government.

While not engaged in the same mission as before (this mission is one of advising as opposed to the 1990s’ peacekeeping mission) and not a violation of international law if U.S. forces were invited in (unlike in Syria), the deployment does represent yet one more instance of expanding American military involvement across the world.

By now, the fact that retired U.S. Army General Wesley Clarke went public about a plan he encountered at the Pentagon to attack seven countries in five years, is no longer major news. After all, Clarke revealed this information in 2006, years after the illegal and lie-based war on Iraq was launched and years after it was too late to stop it.

Clarke’s revelation is particularly interesting considering the fact that the plan, apparently behind schedule if his dates are correct, also mentioned Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Lebanon, and Iran as target countries of American Neo-Con aggression.

In 2006, at the Univesity of Alabama, in regards to a conversation he had with another general at the Pentagon, Clarke stated:

I said, “Are we still going to invade Iraq?” “Yes, Sir,” he said, “but it’s worse than that.” I said, “How do you mean?” He held up this piece of paper. He said, “I just got this memo today or yesterday from the office of the Secretary of Defense upstairs. It’s a… five-year plan. We’re going to take down seven countries in five years. We’re going to start with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, then Libya, Somalia, Sudan, we’re going to come back and get Iran in five years. I said, “Is that classified, that paper?” He said, “Yes Sir.” I said, “Well, don’t show it to me, because I want to be able to talk about it.”

The war in Iraq needs no introduction as it has been a facet of the geopolitical landscape since 2003, every year becoming more and more a fact of life for Americans and, unfortunately, for the Iraqi victims as well.
