US Presidential Race: Are the Kings of the Road Dethroned?

The results of the Iowa caucus came as a bitter pill to both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, with their leadership challenged by Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders, who are both geared to bring even more big surprises in New Hampshire.

In an article entitled “Iowa Caucus Results: 6 Things That Explain How It Happened”, written by Jessica Taylor and carried by NPR, the author opens by saying that “Donald Trump thought he could upend Iowa caucus traditions. The gamble didn't pay off. Hillary Clinton hoped she could wipe away her campaign nightmares of eight years ago by posting a solid win over an insurgent Bernie Sanders. Instead, her margin of victory over Sanders was vanishingly small. Those were just some of the surprise twists from Monday night's results.”

She then elaborates on a list of 6 factors that explain the dramatic results, concluding that “Huge turnout didn't just benefit Trump — it also helped Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio… On the GOP side, it was a three-way race for evangelical voters… Ground games and retail politics still matter… Rubio peaked late at just the right time… Sanders couldn't replicate Barack Obama's 2008 youth coalition…(and) Clinton still has a problem with liberals and progressives”.

Igor Pellicciari, professor at the LUISS University in Rome and lecturer at the Higher School of Economics (studio guest); Eric Shiraev, professor of international relations and political psychology at George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia); and Brandon Turbeville, writer and geopolitical analyst (Iowa) commented on the issue.

Obama Floats The Idea of Mandatory Voting

In yet another “the collective over the individual” move from Barack Obama, during a public meeting about campaign finance reform in Cleveland on Wednesday the President floated the ideaof compulsory voting in the United States.

Obama cited Australia and other countries with such laws as an example of ways in which the idea could be implemented. Of course, in Australia, citizens who do not vote are subject to fines and even imprisonment but that is no matter to Obama since fining and imprisoning individuals for refusing to become part of the hive, purchasing private products, etc. has been a hallmark of his administration since day one.

Funny enough, Obama suggested that one of the answers to the corrupting influence of money over American elections was not to end the practice of following horrendous rulings like Citizens United or to impose more regulations on political campaigns and donations, or even public funding of elections. No, Obama’s answer to the fact that Congress and the President are all available to the highest bidder is to force the American people to vote for them – whether they like it or not.

“It would be transformative if everybody voted,” Obama said. “That would counteract [campaign] money more than anything. If everybody voted, then it would completely change the political map in this country.”

Yes You Should Vote! . . . Maybe

On November 5th, upon waking to discover the results of the 2014 elections, Conservatives and Republicans gloated in rapturous revelry, Democrats and Liberals pined and lost their cool on social media, and the vast majority of Americans didn’t really care one way or the other. In fact, one would hazard a guess that many Americans had absolutely no clue as to what actually happened on November 4th.

Despite the reactions of American voters – either elated or dejected after the election results came in – the truth is that the results don’t actually matter in terms of how the country will be run. My proof for this claim? Democrats and Republicans were elected. That should be proof enough.

Every election cycle, parties change positions and immediately begin to enact the very same policies they were elected to stop. Democrats support war, GMOs, Wall Street and the police state and Republicans pretend to oppose it (sort of). Elect Republicans and Republicans then support war, GMOs, Wall Street and the police state while Democrats pretend to oppose it (sort of). The American people, baffled by television programs, mainstream news, entertainment, and sports, scarcely recognize the fact that the entire political paradigm that they have bought into, as well as their own ideals, did an about face right before their eyes.

In other words, the 2014 elections mean nothing except that Republicans can now do exactly the same thing Democrats have done for the last few years and subsequently take the blame until it is time for the Democrats to take the position back in the future.

Voting has become a ritual performed every number of years where two piles of shit are presented to the American people and the voters are to decide which pile of shit they prefer to eat for the next 4 to 6 years.

Some Candidates And Ballot Initiatives To Keep In Mind For November 4th

Below are a few of these individuals and ballot initiatives that bear closer consideration for support on November 4th.

Dan Buhrdorf - Candidate for US Senate – Nebraska – Write In Candidate – Tax Wall Street Party

Dan Buhrdorf is running against corrupt Republican Ben Sasse, an individual with a history that involves a number of sex scandals (involving underage victims) and Wall Street Democrat Dave Domina.

Dan’s platform involves imposing a 1% Wall Street Sales Tax to fully fund the social safety net and provide for truly universal healthcare in the form of Medicare For All. Buhrdorf also advocates for the Nationalization of the Federal Reserve and using the credit creating power of the Fed to initiate a program of infrastructure rebuilding and national economic recovery resulting in the creation of at least 30 million new productive jobs at high wages. Burhrdorf would also use the Fed to refinance student loan debt at very low interest. Buhrdorf seeks to end “free trade” by renegotiating existing “free trade” agreements and imposing a series of protective tariffs on goods entering the country.

Buhrdorf supports the replacement of both “free market” austerity and socialistic farm subsidies with parity agriculture.

Buhrdorf is pro-gun and fully supports the Second Amendment. He also advocates for an end to imperialist wars across the world and for the creation of a Global Peace Race.

Dan Buhrdorf is running as a write-in candidate so, if you are in Nebraska and would like to vote for him, you must write his name in using the correct spelling.
